What I Really Bought on Sunday
It wasn't only food for school lunches I bought on Sunday... We are having our 50th birthday party this weekend and definitely needed drinks for the party. So I had to go to the liquor store and beer store. As I was there, I thought I might as well buy drinks for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Saves me time and more running around. This meant that I purchased a lot of alcohol. A lot! When I can home with all of it, (remember my husband was busy putting the patio furniture away), I asked my kids and their friends to bring in the drinks. They were ok with this. Young strong boys like to carry heavy boxes, right? They brought in the first cases and I said will you please put it on the dinning room table. Sure, no problem and then they wanted to get back to playing. And I said well, there's more "Will you please get the other boxes in the back seat ?" The kids come in with boxes of liquor and set it on the dinning room table again., and again they think they are done. I said " There's cases of beer in in the trunk, will you please get that too?" at this point the kids are looking at and me with their eyebrows kind of up and only moving their eyes , thinking are you doing all this drinking? Like, how much do you drink? Then I felt like I had to explain and justify myself to 12 and 14 year olds! I said, " no, no, we are having a party. And the holidays are coming ." But they didn't seem to be buying this explanation., and they weren't saying anything. Meanwhile, my kids are completely oblivious to their friends reaction.... Too funny!
