Today is the March for Life in Washington DC. This is close to my heart. As I observe our culture I realize people use benign words to conceal the REAL meaning of those words because it creates a different perspective... which then makes it easier to justify their actions.
Here are some examples:
Reproductive rights ... Abortion.
Fetus ...Baby
Medical procedure..Abortion
Embryo..Baby
Right to choose..Abortion
Pro choice..Pro abortion
Terminate..Kill
Planned Parenthood..Largest abortion provider in the world
It sounds so much better when it is sugar coated..that way you don't have to think about the truth .

Wish I could be there marching!!
ReplyDeleteThe word I cannot STAND to hear is "Fetus"! Its a baby, not a fetus a living human being. grrrrrr. You are so RIGHT, they do sugar coat it to make it seem not so bad. I wish I could be there marching with you also!:)
ReplyDeleteI would be marching holding up a sign that reads "Isaiah 5:20
Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"
Great post! I also believe in LIFE!
ReplyDeleteSarah in Canada

ReplyDeleteBelieve in life...beautiful post.
ReplyDeleteSo sad. But so true. A good wakeup call for us!
ReplyDelete{Following you back! Love your blog!}
We just celebrated right to life Sunday yesterday. They showed pictures of ultrasounds and then the child. It really showed that a fetus should not be called a fetus. When we find out we are pregnant, we don't say...guess what everyone...I am pregnant with a fetus. It's a baby! great post. I'm from Tattletale blog hop. I would love to have you as a follower on my two blogs to. http://hotsavinmama.com and http://foreverateenonline.blogspot.com

Very nice post. :)
ReplyDeleteSo true! How about "birth control," which is for people who want no births and have no control, and "planned parenthood," which services people who failed to plan and do not want parenthood?
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
ReplyDeleteThe worst term is "selective reduction" (meaning which babies do you want to kill that you have artificially implanted?) ...
ReplyDeleteIt's sad that the obese barbie pic got 4x the amount of comments than a post like this.
Hopefully we will get some positive media coverage on the march for life this year. What an important topic.
God bless!

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this. I'm now giving you a back link on my blog by adding you to my reading list at http://beauty-hive.blogspot.com. I'm looking forward to reading more of your posts.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was pregnant, there were some "triggers" which made the nurse ask if I wanted more testing to find out if the baby would not develop naturally. It made me think: what difference would it make to know? But then it hit me that people might opt just to get rid of another person and his/her individual needs. Very sad.
ReplyDeleteVery nice handling of an always hot button subject.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! And the poster is the perfect touch! Following you back!
ReplyDeleteYour words are true.
ReplyDeletea quick visit...:)
ReplyDeleteAwww it really is something. Abortion is such a hard topic. While I know it's a sin in God's eyes, how can I tell a woman who was raped not to abort? It's tough.
ReplyDeleteBy the way I see you were an ICU nurse My son was in ICU for 2 weeks and I'll never forget how caring the nurses were. My son was 10 pounds 14 ounces so he was the biggest baby there but he had hypoglycemia and hypocalcemia. Little did I know he'd have a world of other issues later.
A thought-provoking post. Very well written. I appreciate it and am glad you shared it with us at Rub Some Dirt On It!
ReplyDeleteYou said it....good job...
ReplyDeletePlanned Parenthood is a direct attack on the Black Race. The organization was founded by Margaret Sanger for the sole purpose of eliminating the Black Race. You will find the majority of their "clinics" in lower income Black or Hispanic neighborhoods.
ReplyDeleteMichelle, may I reply to you with what I have learned? My information is that fewer than one percent of women who are raped conceive. Not saying it does not happen, but using rape as an argument is empty and baseless.
Unwanted children are often abandonned, mishandled, abused, in short, they have to pay the bill ! I think each woman has the right to decide herself if she is able or not to raise a child.
ReplyDeleteYou are right... if a woman decides not to raise a child she can do the noble thing and put the baby up for adoption. The waiting lists are a mile long. This is the solution.
DeleteDefinitely the solution. I have a very dear friend who has been waiting for three years now for a baby.
DeleteOur local Catholic church (I say that in the singular because I live in the South and there is only one in my area!) put out roughly 50(?) crosses and their sign says "Each cross represents 1 million babies killed by abortion since 1970". So sad. So powerful.
ReplyDeleteWell said- I find it interesting that those that support abortion are usually the same ones that fight for the lives of convicted murderers. I have a hard time rationalizing how a murderer is worth saving but an innocent baby is somehow okay to kill. How did we become a society that discards our most helpless?
ReplyDeleteGina, come take a look at my blog. I posted a picture that says exactly what you are saying. http://grammasrightagain.blogspot.com
DeleteThanks for the follow. I had been following your for a few months now. I am glad you are now following me. Thanks!

Well said!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit and sweet comment. I am now happily following you too!
Thank you for posting this: Everyone on the other side talks about the rights of the mother I often think what about the rights of the little baby. Just having my first I know the heart begins to beat so early it's as if God is saying " Yes that is a life and it is waiting to be born"
ReplyDeleteMy blog is my new passion. I've been a singer most of my life. I had many gifts given , been on some of the biggest stages with some huge celebrities.
The birth of my daughter is the greatest gift I've ever been given. And Being a mom makes my lifetime of pseudo fame- pale in comparison.
This post is a blessing.
Awesome post and I couldn't agree more!
ReplyDeletewell put and well said. :-)
ReplyDeleteWow ladies, is life really that simple? so Black & White?
ReplyDeleteI understand we all have our own beliefsof what is right or wrong but what about the woman who is pregnant through rape? Should she really be expected to carry that child? Could you watch your own daughter in agony day after day after day because she is carrying a child that reminds her of torture? Honestly? Would you insist on taking the choice to terminate that pregnancy even though it would help her recover? Supposing your daughter then decided to take her own life just because she couldn't cope with what she was carrying? Seriously, would you still be glad she hadn't terminated the pregnancy.
What about the woman who terminates through her own illness or because to carry fullterm would kill her? Would it be better to bring that baby into the world motherless.
I understand fighting for the rights of babies, really I do. But the world is full of babies and kids in care that go through the system abused along the way - is it a better option to add to that?
Abortion should not be such an easy option, I certainly agree with that, but who are we to judge the reasons of every woman out there by saying abortion should be outruled?
Hello...yes I do think it is that black and white. Rape is terrible...but having to live with the guilt of killing an innocent baby is not going to promote healing afterall... adoption is a reasonable option. Two wrongs don't make a right. Saints have been made by choosing the life of their unborn baby over their own. Difficult choices.. I pray none of us have to go through...god bless... read some testimonials on the priests for life website. You can see the evil of abortion for what it really is.
DeleteI never get involved in these debates online, they never end nicely.
ReplyDeleteBut I do think it's narrow minded to proclaim Planned Parenthood an abortion factory and leave it at that. Abortion is an incredibly small part of what they do. They provide birth control, sex education and CANCER SCREENING to a large group of people who would have no other options. Most of their clients are live at or below the poverty level.
I love babies. I would never have an abortion. But I'm happily proCHOICE because I believe it should be the woman's choice. Taking away legal, sanitary abortion will not stop abortion. It will lead to unsafe 'back alley' abortions that kill the mothers.
Hello...planned parenthood's primary revenue source is abortion. Check out the book unplanned by abby johnson who was a planned parenthood director. She provides some fascinating insight into the inner workings of planned parenthood. Most cities have free and extremely low cost health clinics besides planned parenthood to provide screenings, birth control, and women's services but don't perform abortions. And btw, planned parenthood doesn't have equipment to perform mammograms, they refer them out.
DeleteHi again..I just did some research to be more certain... found that planned parenthood does over 330,000 annual abortions. This brings in over $1.5 million of their $4 million annual revenue...so over 1/3 of their business is abortion, I stand corrected. It is still too much for my comfort zone. I don't want to support any organization that has anything to do with taking innocent babies' lives.
