My 9 year old is learning to whistle. So he is practicing. And practicing. It is really kind of annoying. I said, "You probably should not whistle in school, it might bother some people." He then informed me, "No...you are not allowed to. Because once one kid starts whistling, every kid in the whole class starts whistling too. And the teacher has to yell," Whistlers, STOP."
LOL HAHAHAHAH, i say this a lot as well, thank god for educators and teachers because lord knows i would not be able to handle the level for announce children provide. with that being said i love my kids but of course my 7 year old can do things that annoy me i can not imagine a classroom full of children. wow the thought gives me anxiety.
ReplyDeleteOur son was sent home from the second grade years ago for chirping. He chirped uncontrollably like a little bird for a few weeks and then it stopped. He hasn't chirped since.
ReplyDeleteHaaa!!! I can so see this happening-
ReplyDeleteHi! You have been tagged by me. Hope you can participate in Mary Sullivan Frasiers fun meme she started from her new blog http://spilledonthekitchentable.blogspot.com.

The poor teachers have enough to contend with now without whistling. However, most boys think that is "cool" if they can whistle. I would be pleased to join your followers.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny! I am a teacher and it totally happens that way.
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny! Thank goodness for teachers, because I too could never handle a classroom full of children whistling.
ReplyDeleteYes, it can be annoying. but if that were the only thing we had to deal with...
ReplyDeleteGreat blog!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for following me and I do the same too and for your lovely comment.
Your blog I can tell is going to be one of my favorites.

hmmm sounds like he knows from first hand experience...lol...
ReplyDeleteLOL!! Toooooo funny!!
ReplyDeleteWhey do they listen to teachers and not parents - that is the funniest thing to me - sandie
ReplyDeleteThat is funny, lol
ReplyDeleteOh my...this brings back memories. I once had a little whistler too. I guess a teacher does have to deal with children whistling depending on their age.
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny...and so true. He's right, this happens all the time in school!
ReplyDeleteI could only imagine what teachers go through.

One of my students is a whistler! I spend my day asking him to stop that and my kid who hums! To bad they aren't in tune!
ReplyDeleteLol, teachers are amazing! They definitely don't get all the praise they deserve. But I am sure that you are one of the best teachers since you have taught 8 children. Mothers are the best teachers.
ReplyDeleteHA! this made me laugh. I never did lean to whistle. Cute story.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Jeanne
I taught for many years! The cute thing about this story to me is that 9 year olds stop whistling when the teacher tells them too. Junior high students, which was the age group I taught, would have taken a "stop" as a personal invitation to whistle at every opportunity whenever the teacher's back was turned. I don't miss that! I am following you. Thanks for visiting me!
ReplyDeleteCute post. I needed a good giggle.
ReplyDeleteOK- totally LOLed! Love this! such a KID response and no way Jose would I make it with those kiddos in that classroom all day. I give a huge big High Five to our Teachers! They are awesome!! Thanks for the laugh!
ReplyDeleteCute!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSmart kid!
ReplyDeleteToo funny, 9 must be whistling age my girl just started whistling on the weekend...between that and the clarinet she started learning 2 weeks ago....help earplugs please...lol
ReplyDeleteFunny! I can only imagine the frustration and then...patience (!) that teachers must possess to lovingly direct and teach our kids the way to go. What blessings they are! :)
ReplyDeleteBunches if hugs!

Geez Mom -- didn't you know whistling's not allowed in school? Lol.
ReplyDeleteBoth of my in-laws are teachers and I couldn't do it :) I love my kids, but a class full of other people's kids would be more than I would want to deal with! I agree with you about the whistling :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my space. Yours is lovely. You have a follower in me. Also, as a teacher I can tell you...this and MORE happen on a daily basis. One time I had to say MEOWERS stop. Yes, they were meowing like kittens...in the 5th grade. :) Never a dull moment but I love every single minute of it.
ReplyDeleteI'll add whistling to my reasons why I could never be a teacher too. But the nose picking, sneezing and smells have to be first, I have a weak stomach with other peoples kids' bodily functions.
ReplyDelete~Bliss~
I was just telling another blogger that I follow about how much I love teachers...because they give ME a break. I could never teach...I just don't like kids enough to put myself thru that particular brand of fun.

My son hums at his desk without even realizing it. The teacher says he doesn't mind, he has perfect pitch.
ReplyDeleteMy 7-year-old son is learning how to yo-yo. yikes. I am soooo... tired of watching him yo and yo and yo and... Well you get it. I'm assuming one day I will miss his need to impress me with everything he does.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. Can't wait to read more.
I could never be a teacher. All the noises my son makes, multipled by 20? Looney bin, here I come!
ReplyDeleteNo whistle blowers allowed eh?
ReplyDeleteThat is a funny story and cute. Teachers are a treasure. Joyous Wishes, Linda
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I couldn't do it either. My fourth grader is learning to play the Recorder.
ReplyDeleteThat's all I have to say about that.
Funny! I LOVE my third grader's teacher for the very fact that she can survive day after day after day. Thanks for your kind comments on my blog. I'm so happy you directed me here. Your blog looks like a great place to visit often!
ReplyDeleteMy 3rd grade teacher was Mrs. Eva Kookish & the sweetest soul.

Very funny!
ReplyDeletelol...there is more than one reason not to be a teacher....yet children is my chosen career...go figure?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteI was a teacher and can remember so many funny stories about my classrooms of students over the years. Also I was a trumpet player growing up and my parents made me practice on the back porch and you can guess why!
ReplyDeleteLOL Too funny. I couldn't be a teacher either, but I sure appreciate all the braves souls who are!
ReplyDeleteObviously that has happened before...lol.
ReplyDeleteMy co-author teaches 5th grade and reading your story made me laugh. I have been in her classroom and things like whisteling sure are contagious! Too funny!
ReplyDeleteLOL reminds of Arnold Schwarzenegger's character in the movie Kindergarten Cop, he was trying to fit into the teacher role. Needless to say, rough start with the kiddos! When he lost it, the one kid started crying, started chain reaction to the rest of the class LOL
ReplyDeletehilarious...but so true, i am a whistler but only if someone starts it! whistling is contagious and annoying!
ReplyDeletefollowing you now.
lol!!! I know that cause I was a teacher to 100 17 year olds(Yeah, in india we have 100 students in a class) and i had to say STOP all the time..:D Over a period of time you learn to control the class with only your eyes and all you have is a quiet and attentive class!!
ReplyDeleteSigh, I miss teaching...
Welcome to my world! All it takes is one student and all of my students start to sing... dance... you name it! They do it!
ReplyDeleteThat is so hilarious! I used to be a teacher, so this makes it all the more hilarious...
ReplyDeleteHahaha you posts actually make me laugh our loud! I could just picture the teacher spitting that phrase out so very annoyed!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing what they learn at school. My husband is a school administrator so we hear alot of funny stories about kids. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteMy oldest Grandchild is going to be a school teacher that is why she is in University to study but if that happened she would love it kids whistling. She wants to teach primary classes. She loves music. She entered a singing conest outside her home town last week. She had a good step up as a good preformer and keeps her public glued to her. To have a recording single they said. So she would love that. Ha,ha. Up her alley. Cute story as always. My husband comes for big family. So I am glued to your blogs big time. Brings back memeories.
ReplyDeleteLOL!!! I AM teacher so I can totally relate to this post!!! As much as I love children (that's why I went into the profession). Having said that, it can be VERY frustrating!! Imagine your child at home (times 20-30) ALL day long, NON-STOP! That's why teachers earn the summer off!!! I now have a 11 month old at home and I'm back at work. When I get home I want to spend all my time with him, which means I end up doing HOMEWORK until I go to bed!!!!! ;-(
