Boys Will Be Boys. Help!
Everyone could see and hear the constant flurry of activity from the houses being built behind our house. We could watch everything from our patio. The workers would quit about 5 pm and all would be quiet and still again. My boys were 6 and 8, and asked if they could go play in the dirt piles. I guess that would be OK. About an hour later my 6 year old son runs in the house yelling for our attention, (he is very calm in a crisis). He said, " Help! The bulldozer we were playing on had a key in it, and Mikey (the 8 year old) turned it and started it!"

LOL! Never dull and boring!
ReplyDeleteHa! Boys are so curious. I can't imagine your reaction when your youngest told you that. Eek!
ReplyDeletehahahahahaha, can't help ya there i only have girls. ;-)
ReplyDeleteYikes!!!!!! I do hope this will be a 'to be continued' story! Hey, wait a minute.....Did you ever want to put in a swimming pool? xo
ReplyDeleteOH NO! Hope the story had a happy ending:) Have a blessed Friday, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteWhoops! At least now that everyone is safe you can laugh about it :) It will be a great story to tell later on in life! Haha funny boys.
ReplyDeleteBoys will be boys! Never a dull moment. I only have girls and they are grown up with boys of their own.
ReplyDeleteI have a daughter who is 4 1/2 and I can't honestly say I could ever see her doing something like that, except for a practical joke. She has a HUGE sense of humour. That being said, she plays hard, and as my husband has put it, as hard as any boy he has ever seen, including himself at that age, lol!
ReplyDeleteMay he always have no fear in trying something, just to see if it works. May he always have a curiosity to know more. And may he understand all of these good things are pushing his mama closer to heart medication:-)
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with ya ... we have 4 boys, 1 girl ...
ReplyDeleteMrs.B
Oh wow!! I totally would have too at that age! I assume from your post all is ok! And I would let the supervisor on the job site know about the key (Not your son started it LOL), its a hazard and they can get fined for it!
ReplyDeleteI can believe it! Hope everyone was safe. I have one son and I know they can get into things quickly. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Oh no!!!
ReplyDeleteI am now following via Linky Follower. I hope you can follow back.
I'm with Sherri B. there has got to be more to this story!!
ReplyDeleteCranky Old Man

Lol - too funny. Anyone might try that - too tempting not to, when the key is right there.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day :)
Yes, those are boys..lol..I have 2 of them myself! I hope everything turned ok. Have a great week my friend!
ReplyDeletewhat happened?
ReplyDeleteHoly cow! Good thing he came and told. Scary
ReplyDeleteOMGOSH! Let me just say that I am happy to know that there is another family out there like my own used to be!;>) Did you have him dig you a pond while he was running the thing? xo Diana
ReplyDeleteoh my...how scary!
ReplyDeleteYou could/should write a book if you haven't already!
ReplyDeleteOh no! that would totally scare me to death! Heart attack!
ReplyDeleteYou have the best stories!!! LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteThis has got to be another of your soon-to-be-famous cliff-hangers!!
ReplyDeleteOh that Mikey - you've got to keep an eye on him every minute! I am now happily following you along.
ReplyDeletesounds like something i'd do when i was 8! oh boys, we just have to keep eyes on them. constantly (iam the eldest of 5, so i know how that feels)
ReplyDeleteI did the samething when there was one in our backyard - if the workers leave the key in the ignition, then isn't it our duty to turn it? The best was when I pulled on the handles and it started going up and down - I felt this power come over me, like I was in charge and you better not mess with me (just like a boy). That's something every boy should experience (without getting hurt).
ReplyDeleteBut we had an unwritten rule - no telling unless someone was seriously hurt/in danger... Penalty flag!
Wow I would have had a Heart attack!!!
ReplyDeleteBut I think all kids are just curious.
~Jazmin
I certainly hope there's more to this story. What a cliffhanger!
ReplyDeleteWow. Disaster averted, since they didn't drive it (I hope).
ReplyDeleteHoly cow! I am now waiting for the rest of the story! I imagine no one was hurt...or perhaps you would have started your story differently! You have to love and admire the bravery and curiosity of boys...but frequently that admiration is coupled with a desire to break their necks for scaring you to death!
ReplyDeleteOkay, that is NOT a good thing...
ReplyDelete;)
Boys! Never a dull moment!

LOL...........did they drive it? I love boys for this reason! naturally curious and providing mommy with a heart attack.
ReplyDeleteSo funny! I envy you that you still have boys at home. My 4 are all grown up and moved away. We raised ours in the woods of Mississippi, and I swear the same thing happened at our house! My husband had a bulldozer, tractor, etc.. My favorite was when one of the boys would run in shouting for me and say "Now, don't panic, mama" first thing. Of course, thats when you panic!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Dorothy~~
oh boy...boys will be boys..you have to tell us the outcome
ReplyDeletehaha! I can imagine your panicked run to turn it off. lol
ReplyDeleteMy heartbeat just stopped. You worsened it by not telling us what happened. I hope he is okay. Boy would always be boys indeed!!!
ReplyDeleteOMGosh! That made me panic just reading this!

ReplyDeleteFabulous write ups Dear. Glad to follow U back.

ReplyDeleteHAHAHA This is too funny!! BOYS and their great ideas!

Oops! That'd be scary! I'm too afraid to let the kids go play outside by themselves. Even if my 11 1/2 year old is out there with them.

WHAT!?- I would've just about had an heart attack!
ReplyDeleteHoly Moly, I would have peed my pants. After I pictured my child trapped in the buldozer and mowing down my house. Thank goodness everything was okay. Sometimes I wonder why it is inhumane to tie them to a tree and let them play, it would be safer. J/K bye the way.
ReplyDeleteOh no that is scary, glad your boys are so honest to come and let you know what happened straight away.
ReplyDeleteHave mercy!!! Say what?!!
ReplyDeleteSons are so special, aren't they? They stir our hearts in so many ways.
