What is life like in your zoo? Here is what it is like at the zoo here.
Last night we had to get my husband's mom at the airport at 11:30pm....she was coming back from her snow bird Florida vacation. My husband and I drove together to keep each other awake. It was late when we got home. My husband woke up on time... not me. I slept till 8am, a late start for the day. I was now going to have to miss prayer group, I thought I might as well try and get caught up with my emails. But I had to keep answering the phone. Five moms called to RSVP to my son's birthday...happy calls, but busy. Chase Visa fraud dept calls...to inform me that someone in Tucson AZ (we live in PA) has been unsuccessfully trying to use my credit card for online purchases in amounts over $500. The doorbell rings. It is the retired husband of my son's piano teacher. He could see me through the window... I had to answer the door... I did. I was still in my jammies. As soon as he drove away his wife called to tell me he was putting music sheets in my mailbox...I told her he just hand delivered the music. All she said was "I told him to put them in the mailbox. That is what he was supposed to do." I could tell by her tone he was in trouble for not following her exact directions. Poor guy!! Between me and my jammies and his wife he was having a rough time already. I had to call my husband and tell him he can no longer use the credit card and reminded him the blind guy is coming so I can't pick the kids up. He says, "I know you probably told me this already, but who is the blind guy?" "The guy that is going to measure our windows." "How is he going to measure them if he is blind?" "No, he is not blind. He is measuring for our new blinds. He works for budget blinds."
I am laughing! Isn't this how it happens!??? I hope the rest of your day is calm and serene!
ReplyDelete:)
Gaaaa!!! In midst of your ultra busy morning, I do hope they track down the thief who's trying to steal using your credit card.
ReplyDeleteAnother day in Paradise:) So funny how some days start out, just gotta smile! Have a blessed day! HUGS!
ReplyDeleteO.K., so it sounds like my husband is just like all of the others....Misery loves company! xo
ReplyDeleteLOL I hate when I am all comfy in my pj's and someone comes to the door, it is usually a delivery and I have to answer, how does that always happen? Poor delivery guys, or may lucky? I mean those pj's ( which are usually old shorts and a t shirt) are hot right;p And the blind guy, I so thought you meant an actual blind person, so funny:)
ReplyDeletehahahaha, thats the 1st thing i thought when you wrote "the blind guy is coming" i thought a blind guy was going to your home took me awhile lol
ReplyDeletelife never stops for a mother (or for anyone else for that matter)
lol. I love the 'blind guy' interaction, because that sound exactly like something that would happen between my fiance and me. I've often thought about doing a 'day in the life' type post kinda like this. because it's unbelievable how much I cram into a day! thanks for linking up!
ReplyDeleteSounds crazy! But hey thats life! Some days it just feels non-stop!
ReplyDeleteThis gave me a good laugh. I love the blind guy story. I hope the rest of your day goes a little smoother.
ReplyDeletewow you have had quite a day already...I was wondering about the blind guy too...I immediately thought of a sightless person...
ReplyDeleteThe bind guy thing made me laugh out loud! ... Thanks, I needed a good laugh today.
ReplyDeleteMrs.B
Oh wow! Looks like you had quite the morning! Hopefully the rest of your day slowed down :) HAHA Blind guy!
ReplyDeletelol I also follow a blog of a lady that trains seeing eye dogs so my brain just assumed he was "blind" and coming to meet a dog or something...Hope you morning gets a little less busy so you can take 2 minutes to breath before lunch :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings Kelsie
Whew....I had a really witty comment, but I think I really need another coffee after reading all that. LOL
ReplyDeletehope the blinds look great!
I was wonderful how the blind guy was getting there if he was blind. Giggle! What a busy morning!
ReplyDeleteyou are way busier than a stock market dealer apparently, haha.
ReplyDeletelol
ReplyDelete2 hours goes by fast here too, but WHEW weee!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the laugh. I needed it this morning! Enjoy the rest of your "peaceful calm day."
ReplyDeleteYes, life just keeps going. Haha life in my zoo is pretty tame in the mornings, I just have to be sure my 6 yr old is ready for school. The crazy times are the afternoons, around 3. I have my 2 kids (6 and 4) and then
ReplyDeleteI have the 2 I babysit monday thru Friday (7 and 4) and on Mondays I have 1 more boy (3, the cousin to the 2 I babysit) and sometimes I have his sister! So 6 kids running around and then I have a 16 yr old, glad she can keep herself busy!
Ha!I'm really glad you elaborated about the "blind guy"...I was just thinking, "that's gonna look interesting". Too funny!
ReplyDeleteCute!!! Thanks for the giggle!! :D Hope you have a blessed day! :D
ReplyDeleteCrazy for you for sure, but I feel bad for the retired guy who delievered the music. He was just trying to help his wife and trying to go the extra mile to save a trip to the mailbox, and all he gets for efforts is an awkward moment and grief from his wife!
ReplyDeleteCrazy!! Thanks for the laugh :) When days like this happen it's hard not to just stand back, see what's going on around you and laugh a bit! Hope your day is wonderful!
ReplyDeletebahahaha, I love it about the blind guy! so great
ReplyDeleteha! That blind thing mad me laugh. Probably because that was the same thing I was thinking!!!
ReplyDeleteHahaha funny post! Oh I am not a fan of that doorbell ringing when I am still in my jammies, I get caught out more often than I'd like to admit lol
ReplyDeleteYes our zoo is as busy as that, thanks for reminding me I'm not alone!!
LOL! Sounds a lot like the shenanigans n our house, except with smaller children and a baby. Good to know marital communication stays the same throughout the years!
ReplyDeleteO how funny!!!! Sounds like one of my days here!! But the blind guy was my favorite!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the credit card thing, but isn't it wonderful that our banks are so on top of that kind of thing now? I am still laughing about the "blind guy" and will probably continue to chuckle about that for the rest of the day. It's so good to laugh in the midst of chaos! Thanks for visiting my post today!
ReplyDeleteCAS
This is too funny, thanks for the laugh and for stopping by today and leaving a sweet comment.
ReplyDeleteMandy
What a hoot! Thanks for the laugh...I needed it! Hugs
ReplyDeleteIt does help to have a sense of humor when our days are filled with taxing situations. I hope the problem with your credit card gets settled properly.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow. Sounds like my yesterday!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, talk about when it rains huh?

ReplyDeleteYou had quite the day. I guess the good news is that the fraud was caught in time. I had to laugh at the blind guy comment. Some days you just have to laugh :-) I find God has a sense of humour through the tough times.
ReplyDeleteThat was funny! Quite a busy morning. Sorry I haven't stopped by your blog lately. Wolf Prince has been sick. He's feeling better now.
ReplyDeleteI've added Linky Followers and Networked Blogs on my blog and am now following you on both.

ReplyDeleteTell Mike to get it together!
ReplyDeleteheehee on the blind guy...
ReplyDeleteAnd the jammies.
;)
Wow sounds like you had a morning full of excitement. LOL at the blind guy!!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I enjoyed this post so much...especially on the blind guy part. Too funny! :D
ReplyDeleteThat's hilarious. It seems like every day there are so many distractions and our plans absolutely have to change. The only way we could avoid that is if we lived in complete and utter solitude, and really who does? lol! It reminds me of a morning I woke up and my 3 cats made a disaster of our bathroom. One had missed the litterbox and peed outside of it, and since our bathroom floor isn't level, it made a long puddle on the floor. One cat also pooped behind the toilet and I don't know why, but I guess they decided to pretend to cover it with litter, but since there was no kitty litter, they just smeared the poop around on the floor, WITH THIER FEET! Their water bowl was also turned upside down, so there was a mix of that water, and the pee spoken of earlier, all over the floor by the time I woke up. I'm pretty sure the cause of this is that one of our cats is new and he doesn't get along with our original old cats yet, so problems happen, but still. What a morning I had to deal with (and I don't even have children! lol!)
ReplyDelete~Lisha
LOL at the blind guy story. Reading about the events of your morning made me tired...
ReplyDeleteI totally would have fallen for the blind guy too!
ReplyDeleteYes, I laughed out loud when you said that the blind guy was coming. Somehow I knew it wasn't going to be an actual sight impaired guy, but I wondered how you were going to explain it. Your poor husband probably wondered what in the heck you were talking about! LOL
ReplyDeleteYou had a heckuva day, didn't you? Hope things get much better in the days to come! :-) Sue
And thanks for the nice compliment you gave me regarding my tutorial.
oh my gosh what a day! I read all the comments and I forgot what else I was going to say!!!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! That is quite a day!
ReplyDeleteI had one like that yesterday...when I backed out of our carport as quickly as I could so that I could hurry to sign some papers and save $150 off of a purchase, and promptly took the sideview mirror off of our car. It ended up costing more that $150 to fix. And now I feel really dumb. lol.
Thanks so much for coming by Happy Homemaker Me

The "blind" man story is funny. We need some laughter around here tonight because there have been terrible storms all around us all day. Thank goodness it wasn't too bad on our street. I hope tomorrow is a better day for all of us, especially the poor "blind" man. Thanks for stopping by my blog.------ Shannon

I am laughing like all the rest. The Blind guy. I would have said same thing as your hubby. (Still laughing) I told my hubby also. He said the Blind guy measuring up blinds?
ReplyDeleteI liked when you were trying to find what Url means and your daughter was puzzled as if. You must be kidding. As kids say.
What a hoot! lol. So funny.
ReplyDeleteHow funny! And on my blog I went to the zoo, and on yours you live in the zoo! Such a cute post. ~Marti
ReplyDeleteHi hun.. The link is wrong on my hop. Just wanted to let you know so others can read your awesome post!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how so much can happen in two hours... I love the one about the blind guy! Hilarious!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your son, by the way :)
Oh, very funny story and it seem like you love and embrace your busyness :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a funny post. I love the blind guy story part. It was great. My zoo goes from 6:30 in the morning until 10 at night...except for weekends where I am territorial about wanting just SOME of my own time....sometimes I get it. = D Sometimes not when we get PROJECTS going on like this weekend where a one day project turned into a 5 day one...yikes to the beginning of the weekend.
ReplyDeleteI really like your blog...its so FUN!
Irish
So happy to have found this blog! You are a delight to read. Thanks for visiting my site and I will be back! ♥
ReplyDeleteThanks for the smile -- that's cute! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I was thinking when I read "blind guy." Pretty funny...
ReplyDeleteWhat a morining! I've had those days. Happens when you least expect it. Sorry to hear about your credit card. I'm glad they caught on and called you. Hopefull they will track the person down.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Sunday!
Your husband sounds like mine! I always have to be careful how I say things to him because he will invariably "get me" if he gets a chance! Life in your zoo sounds like mine did, when my 4 sons were still at home. Alas, now my life is far too quiet. Yesterday 2 of the grandsons spend the day with us and it was heaven to hear the sound of little voices again! I enjoyed your description and thanks for following. I am following you back!
ReplyDeleteso did the blind guy end up doing a decent job?? :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a busy time you were having! And I must admit, I was on the same thought train as your husband about the blind guy. Thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteThis is so funny! =p Thanks for the laugh!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Summer

Funny post. I love the blind guy and I also like the question about hot dogs. I actually think they may not qualify as meat. Best to stay away from them anyway though. How about veggie dogs? lol Hope you have a peaceful week. Joyous Wishes, Linda
ReplyDeleteWow! That is quite the chain of events for the day! LOL @ "He could see me through the window... I had to answer the door... I did." That is when I so dislike having big windows in the living room and a glass front door!! LOL
ReplyDeleteThat's what makes life all the meaningful, isnt it
ReplyDeleteI'm going to enjoy reading your posts! Love your sense of humor!! So glad you found me, so that I found you! Haha!!
ReplyDeleteOh, this post had me in stitches! :-) Between the man at the door with you and your jammies and the "blind guy" story, I know it is never dull in your house, and that is a good thing! :-)))) Sorry to hear about the credit card, but so glad that the company notified you. Thank you so much for your kind comments on my blog! I hope you had a beautiful and blessed Sunday!
ReplyDeleteI have to chuckle at you day because it is the chaos that comes with lot of children. No time to rest for the weary. I hope your next day was a better one.
ReplyDeleteFunny that you mentioned that someone is trying to use your credit card. It happened to us just this week. Thank goodness they called us and refused a 2500. would be purchase. We closed the account. Fraud is a serious threat.
Have a great week,
xo, Jeanne
I enjoyed this post. I thought you meant blind guy too. :-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed this post...
ReplyDeleteAnd, before I forget and leave without saying this: Happy Belated Birthday to your 8th!!!

ReplyDeleteSandy
I love the blind man story. thanks so much for visiting and following my blog. :)
ReplyDeleteI have never seen so many comments on any one post and have to agree with everyone who has made a comment, so here is one more..this is way 2 funny..(except for the credit card..that's not funny at all--creeps) but I hope it all turned out well. Good thing the credit card company is on top of our usage!
