What Happened Between 8am and 10am

What is life like in your zoo?  Here is what it is like at the zoo here.
Last night we had to get my husband's mom at the airport at 11:30pm....she was coming back from her snow bird Florida vacation. My husband and I drove together to keep each other awake.  It was late when we got home.  My husband woke up on time... not me.   I slept till 8am, a late start for the day.   I was now going to have to miss prayer group,  I thought I might as well try and get caught up with my emails. But I had to keep answering the phone.  Five moms called to RSVP to my son's birthday...happy calls, but busy.   Chase Visa fraud dept calls...to inform me that someone in Tucson AZ (we live in PA) has been unsuccessfully trying to use my credit card for online purchases in amounts over $500.   The doorbell rings.  It is the retired husband of my son's piano teacher.  He could see me through the window... I had to answer the door... I did.  I was still in my jammies.  As soon as he drove away his wife called to tell me he was putting music sheets in my mailbox...I told her he just hand delivered the music.  All she said was "I told him to put them in the mailbox. That is what he was supposed to do."  I could tell by her tone he was in trouble for not following her exact directions.  Poor guy!!  Between me and my jammies and his wife he was having a rough time already.  I had to call my husband and tell him he can no longer use the credit card and reminded him the blind guy is coming so I can't pick the kids up.   He says, "I know you probably told me this already, but who is the blind guy?"  "The guy that is going to measure our windows." "How is he going to measure them if he is blind?"  "No, he is not blind.  He is measuring for our new blinds.  He works for budget blinds."

  5. LOL I hate when I am all comfy in my pj's and someone comes to the door, it is usually a delivery and I have to answer, how does that always happen? Poor delivery guys, or may lucky? I mean those pj's ( which are usually old shorts and a t shirt) are hot right;p And the blind guy, I so thought you meant an actual blind person, so funny:)

  19. Yes, life just keeps going. Haha life in my zoo is pretty tame in the mornings, I just have to be sure my 6 yr old is ready for school. The crazy times are the afternoons, around 3. I have my 2 kids (6 and 4) and then
I have the 2 I babysit monday thru Friday (7 and 4) and on Mondays I have 1 more boy (3, the cousin to the 2 I babysit) and sometimes I have his sister! So 6 kids running around and then I have a 16 yr old, glad she can keep herself busy!

  22. Crazy for you for sure, but I feel bad for the retired guy who delievered the music. He was just trying to help his wife and trying to go the extra mile to save a trip to the mailbox, and all he gets for efforts is an awkward moment and grief from his wife!

  51. LOL! I enjoyed this post so much...especially on the blind guy part. Too funny! :D

  52. That's hilarious. It seems like every day there are so many distractions and our plans absolutely have to change. The only way we could avoid that is if we lived in complete and utter solitude, and really who does? lol! It reminds me of a morning I woke up and my 3 cats made a disaster of our bathroom. One had missed the litterbox and peed outside of it, and since our bathroom floor isn't level, it made a long puddle on the floor. One cat also pooped behind the toilet and I don't know why, but I guess they decided to pretend to cover it with litter, but since there was no kitty litter, they just smeared the poop around on the floor, WITH THIER FEET! Their water bowl was also turned upside down, so there was a mix of that water, and the pee spoken of earlier, all over the floor by the time I woke up. I'm pretty sure the cause of this is that one of our cats is new and he doesn't get along with our original old cats yet, so problems happen, but still. What a morning I had to deal with (and I don't even have children! lol!)

  55. Yes, I laughed out loud when you said that the blind guy was coming. Somehow I knew it wasn't going to be an actual sight impaired guy, but I wondered how you were going to explain it. Your poor husband probably wondered what in the heck you were talking about! LOL
You had a heckuva day, didn't you? Hope things get much better in the days to come! :-) Sue

And thanks for the nice compliment you gave me regarding my tutorial.

  56. oh my gosh what a day! I read all the comments and I forgot what else I was going to say!!!

  57. Hahaha! That is quite a day!
I had one like that yesterday...when I backed out of our carport as quickly as I could so that I could hurry to sign some papers and save $150 off of a purchase, and promptly took the sideview mirror off of our car. It ended up costing more that $150 to fix. And now I feel really dumb. lol.

My zoo goes from 6:30 in the morning until 10 at night...except for weekends where I am territorial about wanting just SOME of my own time....sometimes I get it. = D Sometimes not when we get PROJECTS going on like this weekend where a one day project turned into a 5 day one...yikes to the beginning of the weekend.

I really like your blog...its so FUN!

  92. Your husband sounds like mine! I always have to be careful how I say things to him because he will invariably "get me" if he gets a chance! Life in your zoo sounds like mine did, when my 4 sons were still at home. Alas, now my life is far too quiet. Yesterday 2 of the grandsons spend the day with us and it was heaven to hear the sound of little voices again! I enjoyed your description and thanks for following. I am following you back!
