We had an Easter egg decorating contest. Each kid plus my daughters soon to be husband had 8 eggs to paint and decorate. We displayed all the eggs and judged them with individual votes. Some categories were prettiest, most out of the box, most colorful, happiest, funnest, most unusual, most festive, most showing an Easter spirit..etc.. The winners got $1!!

How cute is that. Beautiful family.

ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome idea! We do an egg decorating day every year at my Grandma's farm with all of my mom's sisters and the cousins... even though we are all truly getting a little old for it, it is tradition and is a lot of fun. Plus, some of us are starting to bring the next generation in on it, as well! I may need to suggest this for this year's decorating day...
ReplyDeleteBy the way, thanks for stopping by, commenting, and following my blog! Can I ask how you found me?

ReplyDeleteThat's really cool. At Halloween, we all carve our own pumpkins -- but that's just five of us. But we do have a contest, though everyone's vote usually cancels everyone else's out. We have already dyed eggs too...but sure they aren't as fancy as some of yours. Neat post.

ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely! You can do lots of egg picking with them (in case that is a uniquely german thing, two people each hold an egg and then bang the eggs against each other, the one that had the egg that doesn't break continues with the next person, the one who's egg broke has to eat it).
ReplyDeletei love your blog! thank you so much for the lovely comments you leave on mine. I am always a bit intimidated by the number of comments you get and am not sure if you really want to read another one, which is why i often dont comment :-)
anyway, wishing you a wonderful easter!
