We Could All Just Lighten Up A Little

Right? I guess I am upset about Obamacare and haven't figured out exactly what to do now. I wish we could all just succeed and start over.  Like the original intent in 1776.  So I'll think about ways I do lighten up. I realize Wordless Wednesday is posted on Tuesday..that is how it works in blog land, I am just going with the blogging flow. Then there was the Tuesday when my sweat pants were on inside out all day and I thought it was Wednesday. I thought about all the people I was talking to with those tags and seams showing and my conversations about how the week is just flying and it is Wednesday already....maybe they didn't even notice and maybe they thought it was Wednesday too. So I'll think about how I should have, would have, could have, been embarrassed instead of being forced to join something I did not want to join.

  1. I hear you, sweet friend!!
It is going to be a very
    interesting summer and
fall with this on the radar.

    Had to laugh about your
    sweat pants and LOVE your
    positive attitude!!

Hang in there. I think the
    people's voice is going to
be heard....and it will be a
    roar, not a whisper : )

    Happy Thursday and thanks
    for stopping by!

    1. I agree, it's time that "we the people" made our voices "roar." It should be interesting. I hope ALL voters get out there to "roar." It's the only recourse we have for change. I've tried writing to congressmen in the past. Might as well have saved the paper and stamp!

  2. LOL you made me laugh about wearing you sweats inside out. It must have been that kind of day because I woke up and realized much later that my nightgown was on inside. I guess the good news is I didn't have to meet anyone dressed like that! LOL

  3. It was a fad just a few years ago to wear sweats, tops and bottoms, wrong side out. You were just renewing a fad.
I too am worried about what will happen to Medicare with this.

  4. Wearing clothes inside out means a happy surprise! Old wives tale, but it did happen to me. xo

  5. I have done that before, too! you just gotta laugh about it. LOL

  6. smiles..i went to wrk today with my shirt on inside out...not only did i not notice....neither did my boys....smiles...

  7. Amen, I vote for 1776 we can all wear our clothes wrong side out at the rally!!!!

  8. Sorry, but you are really making me laugh! You do have a gift for that.

  9. Grrrrrrr I am soooo, not happy! Suzanne is right, it will be a very interesting summer and fall. Obama owns the TAX now, if they would have tried to sell it as a tax, many of the Senate Dems would 'not' have voted for it and it would have gone down, some of those Senators will have some 'splainin' to do when they get back home.

I am upset too, I have even cried off and on. But we must go on...life will be as before, we will wear our clothes inside out and think it a different day. We will post our blogs and read our friends posts and hold each other up.

We are Americans..Freedom is in our blood and it always will be.

Thanks for sharing your feelings my friend. xoxo

  10. I bet they didn't notice, I have a dress that is a bit too big up the top (not wearing it anymore!) and I came home and saw that the buttons were undone. I'm hoping they weren't undone all day but I'm sure someone would have told me if they were! x

    1. Your company probably will be one of the first to bail out and take the tax-payer subsidized insurance because it will be cheaper than the premium insurance you might receive now.

Think HMO's were bad. The government tax-payer subsidized cheaper insurance is going to be worse.
Plus, your taxes will go up to pay for this insurance. You will pay more in taxes and you might not be able to afford the premium plan if it will even be offered.
You could compare it to private and public school. The employers are going to pick the public school and the government is going to try to find ways to cut corners to keep the price down.
Say good-bye to competition and the patient coming first.

  12. Wearing inside out brings luck apparently. In most instances it was done unwittingly and corrected when realized. Oh well! some good days some funny days! Nice take, Anne!

  13. I totally empathize. Sadly there's not much we can do but vote for people who support the laws and legislation we want in our government and vote out the ones we don't care for. It can feel quite hopeless at times. This next year will be interesting indeed!! Just keep your head up and roll with it doll!! Hope you are doing well otherwise. Thanks for visiting the Hop again!

  14. LOL-About the sweatpants. NOT LOL about Obamacare! xo Diana ps. One time I went out dressed to the nines with my girlfriend and as we were leaving this place someone walked up to me and asked me if I realized the back of my dress was unzipped all the way down to my butt....yeah...of course I did, you crankyanker~ ugh

  15. I am so with you about Obamacare (grrr). You made me laugh a lot with your inside out sweats and thinking it was Wednesday. You crack me up. Thanks for being positive anyway...It's healthy to laugh at oneself. I think a groundswell of discontent with our current regime is rising and we will see some changes at the top levels of government with the upcoming election.

  20. that's too funny... but if you were anywhere me... i promise, i would have told you. :) i approach complete strangers and tell them that their tag is out, they have something hanging from their nose, they have broccoli on their teeth... one woman wore her dress backward as i was crossing the crosswalk from school. i told her and she turned around to go back home! you know why??? because i would expect the same from them! please tel me if i have something hanging from my nose or something in my teeth! ( i tried telling someone she had dirt on her face once... turns out it was a birth mark... eek!, needless to say i've been less helpful these days when it comes to facial comments... but backward sweats, i'd tell ya!) ;)

  21. Annmarie, Regarding Obamacare, the confusion has just begun! 250% Longer than War and Peace, now the lawyers, insurance companies, state and local governments have to interpret what all of this really means. I'm retired and on Medicare but I pay almost $500 a month for a $5K deductible health insurance policy for my younger wife. Of course there's no coverage for eye care or dental and I have discovered that I can buy my prescriptions at local drugstores for far less than I was paying the big chain stores. If I use my Rx insurance, the price is higher on some drugs than if I didn't. Crazy and going to get worse!

Being retired, it doesn't matter much what day of the week it is... My wife keeps me from embarrassing myself as regards clothing...good thing too! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

  24. I think Lightening up and enjoying life more would be good for everyone....there is way too much stress put on us which we then pass down to our children. It really isn't healthy!!

  25. I spent the day alternating between despair and disgust...we MUST change the regime this fall! With the inside out pants, who's to say that you weren't just starting a new fad? You always make me smile. As for the Wednesday stuff posting on Tuesday, it does always leave me with a sense of being behind everyone else! That's why my Wednesday meme starts at midnight...unless I change my mind and do it on Tuesday evening...love the freedom!

  26. Whatever you say, Annemarie, you remind me to lighten up! Life is better lived that way :)

  27. I was upset, too, Annmarie. But, my son-in-law tried to explain some of the legalities which I can't translate exactly, and it seems that by doing this, the court has actually made repeal easier. Lets all hope! Then, we can truly relax in our sweats, inside out or not. :)
    Blessings!

  28. Another tax on the employed and another entitlement for the lazy. This was the longest week of my life. I live for the days I can wear insideout sweats. :)

  29. When my son was in high school, back in the 90's, they would periodically have a day where everyone was to wear their clothes inside out! Sounds like you were having a 90's high school flashback.

A young lady is just starting her own bakery and now she is looking to sell insurance so she can provide her future employees with the required healthcare.

Our local 6PM news announcer, said that since the announcement of Obamacare, $2 million in donations had come into the Romney campaign. Not sure if it is true.

  31. I enjoyed this post quite a bit. I love the way you think. I would have been worrying about what all those who saw me w/pants inside out might have thought even more so being confused about the day. But you considered (and probably accurately) that many may not have even noticed or may have even thought that Tuesday was Wednesday too. I love that positive mind you have! There are many of us that often get confused at times with all the other issues we have going on in this busy life. Thanks for sharing a bit of wisdom today about taking it all in stride! Love it!

So glad that you keep a positive attitude, and that little things don't ruffle your feathers too much.

We're very un-happy with the direction that our country is going in, and we plan to make our voices heard this coming election!

  33. If anyone noticed, they probably thought that was the new style. Much better than running around in flannel pajamas. The news we got yesterday would make anybody discombobulated! I've got a feeling it's far from over! Hang in there kiddo! :D

  34. I wore earrings to work one day that were similar in size but totally different in color...discovered my mistake in a meeting and discreetly took them off. I wondered who noticed and didn't say anything! As to the actions of yesterday, yes, we will have an interesting summer and fall. I don't understand it all but I know we are paying way too much for what we get in our health insurance. While it's nice to be able to put our 22 year old daughter on my hubby's policy, he would like something on his paycheck to bring home. Gets my blood to the boiling point if I let it.

    1. HI Francie,You must have liked HMOs? The doctors do not want to do much because they do not want to lose money. I work part-time in a dental office and there are dental HMO's called a different name. This is going to be a government-run, tax-payer subsidized HMO. Instead of the insurance companies running the show it will be the government making the medical decisions.

  40. I have a blouse I almost always put on inside out after trying on clothes while shopping. I can't tell you how many times a clerk has stopped to tell me. I am always so appreciative. I always tell myself tomorrow someone else is going to wear two different shoes and no one remember what I did. Maybe.... I just have to go with "it is what it is".

  48. My daughter sent this to me yesterday. It was from one of her prayer requests from a friend, I just had to share it with you:

    I have a prayer request.

    There's a lady I've known forever.
    She's very sick.
On top of that, she's being abused by those to whom she has given everything.
Lies about her abound, and seem to come from all sides. Just breaks my heart.
Seems there's nothing I can do alone but maybe, if we join in and lift her up together, we can heal her.
She's well over 230 years old, but way too young to die.
    Her name is 'America'...
And I love her and have always been proud of her.
Take time to say a prayer for her - even if it is a short, simple prayer like, Lord, please heal our land.
    Amen…

It brought a tear to my eye. I am ramping up my rosary prayers, my novena's and lighting as many candles as I can....I don't know what else to do.
Thanks for sharing. Love your blog.

  49. I have to smile. As for the health care thing, at least now it is on the front burner. For too long everyone has complained about health care in this country and pointed fingers at everyone else. Now a real discussion is going to have to take place and real ideas will have to come forth.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I once wore a shirt inside out all day without knowing about it. When my husband pointed it out at dinnertime, I looked down and said "No it isn't!" Sure 'nuff it was. Fortunately, it wasn't all that noticeable and even more fortunately, i didn't care at the time. LOL. :-)

Concerning the health care thing, I have a feeling that even more "sleeping giants" will awaken with the advent the the Supreme Court's ruling. I'm afraid for our future and the children's future. Like someone mentioned previously, all we can do is exert our power via voting. Nonetheless, I still feel powerless. *sigh*

  51. I don't recall ever wearing anything inside out, but have been known to put on tops backwards at times. Now everything is "tagless" it gets confusing sometimes lol.

I'm jumping on the boat with the rest of the ticked off Americans over Obama care :(

    ReplyDelete
  52. Some very odd connections here? Americans are going to be seriously hurt by Obamacare, all Americans will be TAXED for this and TAXED a lot. Lighten up? hmm? Well, I am financially ok, but I know many Americans that will suffer and I do feel for them.

  55. seriously. healthcare is so expensive, it's just going to be another big bill. I haven't had health insurance for 10 years, and although it would be bad if some sort of unexpected thing happened, it would have been very hard for me to afford health insurance during most of the last 10 years. Now, no matter how horrible people's income is, they're going to have to pay for health insurance.

Oops, I forgot, we were supposed to be lightening up, lol!

Also, just a side note, since you commented in June, I just wanted to remind you that the June $50 giftcard giveaway is almost over, and June 30th is the last day you can leave any comments on June posts at 1house1couple so you can win. Good luck momto8! And thanks for coming over! :)

This happens to be an old man's syndrome.

  61. I have skimmed though most of the 69 comments here and feel that I should add my two cents here since I live in Massachusetts, where healthcare has already been the mandate for years. A concept and plan put into place by MITT Romney, who suddenly thinks now that this is not a good idea. I LIVE THIS IDEA ALREADY. The penalties are HIGHER than the penalty that the federal government wants by 2016. And the health plan that we have as a low cost option is like a golden ticket. Coverage was fantastic and co pays were better than what I have on my employer paid health plan. There are Pros and cons to both sides of this, and an overhaul of the whole system is necessary, but I don't think that can be achieved by putting someone in office that only says what the audience in front of him wants to hear. AGAIN, I LIVE in the state that MITT ROMNEY mandated this already, not Obama.

But seriously, I occasionally wear my clothes backwards and inside out, so what do I know?

  69. Sweat pants are nice...doesn't matter if they are inside out or not...and don't get me started on Obamacare. I do Human Resource and Benefits for my company, and have been to a couple of seminars to learn the backend of this, and it, in my opinion, is quite awful. Companies will get fined for not meeting certain criteria, and all individuals will now be mandated to carry insurance, whether they want to or not.
