I couldn't find how to email you...please forgive and please tell me about your book the Mystic Saints...I would love to read it! thanks. love your blog more everyday!
My teen (he is back with mom) was up til 3am and slept til 2pm almost every day. At first i didn't like it, then realized let him get it out of his system. If got out with friends they would just be saying "I don;t know, what do you want to do" all day.
I rarely see my teen until noon, I'm in bed hours before him, and in some sick, perverse way I somehow prefer it that way. I'll see him in the morning when he's in his 20's.
oh my gosh, been there, got the tee shirt, my three were teen agers at the same time and would sleep till two in the afternoon and some times I let them, it was quieter with them sleeping!!!!!
HI!!! HOW FUNNY!!!! I hear ya!!! of course I being the age I am...I still require 8 hours of sleep or I am grouchy...sluggish...just tired....I may have iron poor blood!!!Oh wait...to old for that!!I think your post is funny though!!! hugs, jamie
We went to the Braves game on Saturday night and beat the Phillies! (Sorry about that, well...not really!) Hey, let those kids sleep but then, work them like slaves! That's my motto! HA HA
It's true, LOL! My son slept until 1 p.m. in the afternoon, drug his teenage carcass up for food, sat like a lump on the couch and ate, sat after he ate, sat before eating again, sat before bed, went to bed for 12 hours and did it the next day! Sigh. I'd give anything to have him sitting on this couch again (he's left the nest) :(
Just the title alone had me laughing. I'm in the middle of it too! The worst (?) part is when those twelve hours fall. 9 to 9 I could handle--but 12 to 12?! Oh these funny kids!
Annmarie, When our son was around 14, he could and would easily sleep for 12 hours at a time! Then he would eat enough for 3 when he got up...and then repeat that 2 more times before he started his next 12 hours of bedtime! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
Don’t wake me up. Don’t pound my door. I need more sleep. I need much more. Much more than you. Much more than he. Much more than this whole family. Have some respect! I stay up late. I watch tv. I meditate. I need my rest, believe you me. Ignoring you takes energy!
I never remember sleeping 12 hours at a time as a teen - neither does my husband, thank goodness! We had things to do in the summer - sports, community service, working, etc. Nothing like working out in the afternoon to convince you it's easier to run in the morning when it's cool! Our younger siblings definitely did sleep lots, though. We will be able to honestly tell our daughters that it's time to get up, and if they're tired then they stayed up too late ;)
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving the sweet comment! We ARE busy, but I love it and I wouldn't have it any other way!
Been there, done that. I got mine up yesterday at 9:00 and he complained. Of course, my insisting that we move everything in his room and clean didn't go over so well either.
I had teens and remember well. Sue's poem is very appropriate! If only we could get the sleep they think they need, except when you ask them to go to bed. lol
Thanks so much for stopping by Anne Marie, I love making new blogging buddies. You blog is so warm and inviting. This dialogue from today reminds me of days gone by with our children. Enjoy this time, it will be over all too quickly. Blessings!
Funny but so true. Sometimes honestly I had to check to make sure my son was alright......he slept so much. All night up in the summer and all day asleep.

DeleteTwelve hours a night? That's not true.
ReplyDeleteIt's six hours at night. The other six are during the day.
(Sorry - meant to add my own comment, not reply to the post above me)
LOL, I guess it depends on when you start those twelve. Teenagers do need a lot of sleep.
ReplyDeleteHAAAAAAAAAAA! that's a good one!
ReplyDeleteDid you see my mud pie post? come on -- go see it. we DID have fun!
thanks for saying they are beautiful. i love um!
I remember those days with my boys! I always hated to sleep (still do - afraid I was going to miss something!)...
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for those days. I have a 6, 3, and 1 year old and they are all up by 6 am this summer.
ReplyDelete<a href="http://boydweeklydevotional.blogspot.com>Encouraging Thoughts for Life</a>
When you want them to sleep - babies - they stay up. When you want them up - to help as teens - they can't get up.
ReplyDeletesandie
I would LOVE to have 12 hours sleep!
ReplyDeleteLOL!! Tooooooooooooo funny!! I think my teenage son would agree!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHa ha I remember those days.. Gosh parents can just be so unfair lol.
ReplyDeleteLove it!! LOL!

ReplyDeletelol Exactly what my 15-year-old says!
ReplyDeleteA growing boy needs his sleep and will say anything to get out of chores.
ReplyDeleteI think 'moms' need 12 hours of sleep in summer because the kids are home! xo
ReplyDeleteYES!!!
DeleteBrilliant!
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I would love to have tweleve hours sleep in the summer! :)
ReplyDeleteWhahahahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog! I'll follow in return.
My teenage son will LOVE this.
LOL!!! I am sure I used that line when I was a teen. I remember sleeping until 1 - 2pm regularly in the summer!
ReplyDeleteWhat Ms A, Starting Over, Sweet Marie, and Kay G said.
ReplyDeleteSounds right:) Have a blessed day, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteJust the title alone had me laughing. I'm in the middle of it too! The worst (?) part is when those twelve hours fall. 9 to 9 I could handle--but 12 to 12?! Oh these funny kids!

ReplyDeleteThey want to sleep in while they can before school starts up again. I guess you could always tell them to get to bed earlier. LOL.
ReplyDeleteDanielle
Of course they do!
ReplyDeleteI even wrote a poem about that when my kids were teens. It's called "Rise and Shine."
Rise and Shine- Not!

Don’t wake me up.
Don’t pound my door.
I need more sleep.

Yes...this sounds familiar.
ReplyDeleteWhen mine tell me that I tell them they will have to go to bed a LOT earlier in future then..lol

Hm.... interesting comment, not one my teens ever managed to come up with....:D
ReplyDeleteI would say that only 8 hours of hard, mom like work would be worthy of 12 hours of sleep. Oh wait, mom's don't get that so teens shouldn't either.
ReplyDeletelol, I love it.
ReplyDeleteAnd what time of the morning/afternoon was that? :)
ReplyDeletelol! So true!
ReplyDeleteOh good luck with that! I remember those days...LOL! ...:)JP

ReplyDeleteHaha. I still think I need 12 hours of sleep!
ReplyDeleteFunny but so true. Sometimes honestly I had to check to make sure my son was alright......he slept so much. All night up in the summer and all day asleep.
ReplyDeleteMy 12 year old claims the same thing. = D
