Hooray!! Again, I remind the boys it would be a good thing to go to the bus stop early...maybe the bus will be early....so hurry up! Go now! Get a good start! Be the first ones there! See ya! Have a good day! Bye! As I am closing the door quickly, I bask in delight that it will be my first day in 8 weeks where I will have a few hours where I will not have to answer questions like, "Would you rather be a falcon or a cheetah?", "Did you realize fish don't have arms but are great swimmers?" Good luck teachers!
:)
ReplyDeleteI remember that feeling! When our son used to ask us questions like that, and we had to admit to not knowing the answer, he would always come back with, "well if you had to say..."
ReplyDeleteBreathe deep and enjoy my friend!
ReplyDeleteHaha,,
ReplyDeleteyes teachers. good luck!
Enjoy the quiet!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the few minutes you have. I do remember those days. Seems like a long time ago except in only was 3 years. Funny.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice, quiet day!
ReplyDelete(Maybe someday I'll get to that point, too.) :)
well??? which would you rather be? A falcon or a cheetah?
ReplyDeleteOh you will soon wish for those little guys asking you questions. It's the same when they leave home...very quiet and oh so noisy when they come back for a week end.
ReplyDeleteHi, that would be a very good treat for you...I always look forward to school days. Mommies like us sure need our own quiet time :) I am following you!
ReplyDeleteLOL Annmarie, My brother used to call it the "magic bus" . I always prayered my daughter would have some friend in their class. The hard part of school beginning is getting back on the early to bed schedual. Smiles to all of you, Susie
ReplyDeleteHi Annmarie, I like your posting title "School start. Party time!" LOL Enjoy the few hours of quiet and peaceful moment.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day, regards.
Girl, I'm on my third glass of champagne already. WHOO HOO!!! Please excuse any typos.

I think my wife is looking forward similarly to my oldest daughter starting school on the 5th... Thanks for a good laugh!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day, I bet they will have a lot of questions when they return:) HUGS!
ReplyDeleteCute. I can imagine the peace, but am sure you will start missing them very soon. Sometimes it can be too quiet.
ReplyDeleteTeaching is not a lost art, but regard for teaching is a lost tradition.

I will pray that God blesses the teachers!
My kids are all grown, but I do remember how peaceful those first days were after they went back to school. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's school time again! Hard to believe another summer is gone.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your free time. :)
<><
hahahah....sounds just like my sister :)
ReplyDeleteToo funny!! I feel this way sometimes, but mostly I get upset. Only because I don't have a life outside of my kid. But I only have one, so I can imagine I'd be ready to send them off if I had more then that! LOL
ReplyDeleteOh, to have those days again...when my boys were young, and still making me crazy in the house! Enjoy the solitude!
ReplyDeletewow that's a hard one, i was going to say a falcon but.......--enjoy your reprieve :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny! I do remember those days, they go by in a flash!

Ha! Ha! I guess it is good for moms when summer ends! Have a peace-filled day (or two)!
ReplyDeletelove those questions, lol. After lovingly, and gently, pushing my daughter out the door, I breathed a sigh of relief....then an hour later, here comes my 4 year old grandson. so much for peace and quiet. lol

Personally, I would rather be a cheetah. ;)
ReplyDeleteI think I'd go with cheetah too...I'm got mixed feelings about school starting again. My son is super excited and loves his teacher but I don't want to have to wake up so early!
ReplyDeleteHaha, yay for you! Good luck to the teachers!
ReplyDeleteI always marvel at the energy of teachers, but also of moms of 8! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your kid stories so much :) Really enjoyed going back to school as a kid, I'm such a geek!

Ha ha. good to be alone sometimes:)
ReplyDeleteI still have another 2 weeks to wait.. :-(
ReplyDeleteI just skyped with my grandson and he started back today. It was a short day so he had tons of questions and still wanted me to draw super heroes for him--it's exhausting, but fun. XOXO
ReplyDeleteHaha! I know the feeling! My daughter always asks questions like that.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's right. Fish don't have arms, but are great swimmers. School has started here. :)
ReplyDeletehaha enjoy the breather...smiles....i am sure homework will start soon enough....
ReplyDeleteI do believe you are not alone in thinking YAAA BACK TO SCHOOL THEY GO!
ReplyDeleteI know I love it when they go back to school!
I did a happy dance! Is that bad? Thanks for stopping to hop with Curious Wisdom!

Since I'm a school teacher, I don't appreciate your cheers. However, a few hugs from my students today made the end of summer less painful.
ReplyDeletewe can definitely do without knowing why fish are good swimmers even though they don't have arms!! :P
ReplyDeleteI will miss having my son home.
ReplyDeleteNow, I just need to bring some chocolate so we can really enjoy laughing about those would you rather be questions! Hahaha. I wanted to invite you to my first linky party where you can add your post. It is called RAW 10-minute Tuesdays, but opens up on Monday nights at 7pm (Mtn. time) Hope you can make it!
ReplyDeleteLOL...I can sooo relate....I use to sit and enjoy the quiet the first hour after the kids left for school.
ReplyDeleteBack to school time again...where did the summer go? Enjoy your "you" time!
ReplyDeleteHey lady,
ReplyDeleteLong time no check in. :) Life has been crazy. I'm enjoying having the boys in school as well. I'm not overly excited with the school and how they are teaching the boys, but they have to get use to a public school setting.
Zeva is gaining some more independence as well.
You are so funny! Wait till you're retired--every week day will be like the first day of school!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I can relate. Those couple hours of peace and quiet are so precious.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally with you on this! My kids go back on Wednesday so keep your eyes open for a victory post! Wahoooo!!!!

I loved those questions. Such wonderful boy talk.
ReplyDeleteLeslie (aka Gwen Moss blog)
I wish I had home schooled mine.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Well said!
ReplyDeleteI cannot help but laugh! I get asked questions like that too...constantly! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI home educate so I still get those questions, but usually I just look at them and ask what that has to do with their Math (they love to daydream during math, it is hereditary since I did that too). :)
Eight weeks!! My goodness, how did you survive?? lol
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your well deserved time to yourself :)
xx
Hah - I can relate! Enjoy your quiet alone time. Your post reminded me of the commercial for an office supply store, where a mom is shopping for back-to-school supplies, singing, "...it's the most wonderful time of the year..."
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful quiet day!! :)
ReplyDeleteYears ago when my son figured out that when he started kindergarten the next day, I would be all alone in the house. He asked me if I would be scared. I assured him I would be fine and if I needed to I could go to the library and not be scared. All the while I was secretly jumping for joy at the prospect of time alone.
ReplyDeleteLol, hope you enjoy yourself a bit!
ReplyDeleteThe beginning of a new school year is always exciting :)
ReplyDeletehttp://therealfoodrunner.blogspot.com/
Nice hand off.
ReplyDeleteHoping your kiddos enjoy their day and that you did too!
ReplyDeleteGotta love those questions! I have no idea how kids come up with them, I can barely formulate a coherent sentence most days.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Too funny. The other day my 4-year-old was sitting in church with me and said, "Mom, is this all the people in the whole world?"
ReplyDeleteThat made me laugh. I can remember my oldest brother following my mom around asking things like "What's your favorite color?" (I don't know) "Well, if you HAD to choose one, what would it be?" At which point she would run screaming into the night.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your "me" time, Marie :)
ReplyDeleteI have a two year old daughter and there was never a day that she stopped asking "why". Looks like I have a long way to go.
So, would you rather be a falcon or a cheetah? :)
I actually miss that first day back now that mine are in college enjoy
ReplyDeleteSoak up the free time my friend.
ReplyDeletePut up your feet, get a pedicure, go to the spa... Whatever you do, have a blast!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha.. Nice post.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy it!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Have some indulgent fun now! Maa
ReplyDeleteBack to school starts next week here, cant wait! =)
ReplyDeleteLove the questions! Yay for back to school! Enjoy the quiet time.
ReplyDeleteMaybe take a nap. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL...too funny! Enjoy! Can't wait til I get to that point, my oldest just started kindergarten and I was totally opposite:-)
ReplyDeleteComing from a teacher....umm, thanks?! ;-)
ReplyDeletenext Monday, I am half free.....c'mon Monday!!
ReplyDeletebut the littlest who is still here, and thus I am still stuck in the land of the perpetual "why mommy?"
Our kids went back early this month, I remember when we were kids we didn't go back until the end of the month like this. Wonder what happened with that? Oh well, they don't know any better I suppose!
ReplyDeleteYAY for the first day of school!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNice quiet time.
ReplyDeleteHa ha, I never thought I would say this, but I am also looking forward to some solitude moments..
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad school started. My daughter wanted to go and do too many thing this Summmer. I'm taking a vacaton now:)
