School Starts. Party Time!

Hooray!!  Again, I remind the boys it would be a good thing to go to the bus stop early...maybe the bus will be early....so hurry up! Go now! Get a good start!  Be the first ones there! See ya!  Have a good day! Bye! As I am closing the door quickly, I bask in delight that it will be my first day in 8 weeks where I will have a few hours where I will not have to answer questions like, "Would you rather be a falcon or a cheetah?", "Did you realize fish don't have arms but are great swimmers?" Good luck teachers!

  1. I remember that feeling! When our son used to ask us questions like that, and we had to admit to not knowing the answer, he would always come back with, "well if you had to say..."

  18. Too funny!! I feel this way sometimes, but mostly I get upset. Only because I don't have a life outside of my kid. But I only have one, so I can imagine I'd be ready to send them off if I had more then that! LOL

  46. Since I'm a school teacher, I don't appreciate your cheers. However, a few hugs from my students today made the end of summer less painful.

    ReplyDelete
  47. we can definitely do without knowing why fish are good swimmers even though they don't have arms!! :P

  48. Now, I just need to bring some chocolate so we can really enjoy laughing about those would you rather be questions! Hahaha. I wanted to invite you to my first linky party where you can add your post. It is called RAW 10-minute Tuesdays, but opens up on Monday nights at 7pm (Mtn. time) Hope you can make it!

  51. Hey lady,
Long time no check in. :) Life has been crazy. I'm enjoying having the boys in school as well. I'm not overly excited with the school and how they are teaching the boys, but they have to get use to a public school setting.

Zeva is gaining some more independence as well.

  52. You are so funny! Wait till you're retired--every week day will be like the first day of school!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Oh my gosh, I can relate. Those couple hours of peace and quiet are so precious.

  56. I cannot help but laugh! I get asked questions like that too...constantly! LOL!

I home educate so I still get those questions, but usually I just look at them and ask what that has to do with their Math (they love to daydream during math, it is hereditary since I did that too). :)

  57. Eight weeks!! My goodness, how did you survive?? lol
Enjoy your well deserved time to yourself :)
    xx

  58. Hah - I can relate! Enjoy your quiet alone time. Your post reminded me of the commercial for an office supply store, where a mom is shopping for back-to-school supplies, singing, "...it's the most wonderful time of the year..."

  59. Hope you had a wonderful quiet day!! :)

  60. Years ago when my son figured out that when he started kindergarten the next day, I would be all alone in the house. He asked me if I would be scared. I assured him I would be fine and if I needed to I could go to the library and not be scared. All the while I was secretly jumping for joy at the prospect of time alone.

  64. Gotta love those questions! I have no idea how kids come up with them, I can barely formulate a coherent sentence most days.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Haha! Too funny. The other day my 4-year-old was sitting in church with me and said, "Mom, is this all the people in the whole world?"

    ReplyDelete
  66. That made me laugh. I can remember my oldest brother following my mom around asking things like "What's your favorite color?" (I don't know) "Well, if you HAD to choose one, what would it be?" At which point she would run screaming into the night.

  67. Enjoy your "me" time, Marie :)
I have a two year old daughter and there was never a day that she stopped asking "why". Looks like I have a long way to go.

So, would you rather be a falcon or a cheetah? :)
