Yesterday, after a full day I persuaded my ever reluctant husband to do a Pilate's tape with me. When we finished, I asked him how he liked it and he diplomatically answered it was different than exercises he normally does. I said let's chill tonight and watch a red box and open a bottle of wine, and sent him and the boys to the store to get movies. He came home with Downton Abbey! When the boys were done with their movie they came to say goodnight to us and asked, "How was your movie?" My husband couldn't answer because he was asleep. But still...
He did the workout I wanted to do, instead of the workout he wanted to do and selected a movie he thought I would like, instead of choosing a movie he would like.
aww, what a sweetie!
ReplyDeleteYou are one blessed woman, Annmarie, but I know you already know that! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's all about compromise, isn't it. It was sweet of him to do those things to please you.
ReplyDeleteThat's so sweet!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetheart!!!
ReplyDeleteHe is simply a nice guy, luck you!
ReplyDeleteThumbs up all around.
ReplyDeleteIt's so great to have a husband who thinks so much of you. (I have a suspition that you do the same for him!)

ReplyDeletesmiles...i have been sucked in and we are watching downton abbey as well...way to go hubs!
ReplyDeleteLucky girl!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely day. And, when My Honey (aka my husband) falls asleep and makes those sleepy noises I don't mind at all. I know where he is an what he is doing and that's just fine with me that he is enjoying a little snooze.
ReplyDeleteLovely! X
ReplyDeleteHubby and I rarely watch movies together, I can't hear over his snoring.
ReplyDeleteAnother example of what a great husband looks like. You are blessed.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's how husband and wife work together!
ReplyDeleteThats love:)
ReplyDeleteNow that's a sweet guy!
ReplyDeleteA perfect day of togetherness!
ReplyDeleteI'm grateful, too, that my husband unapologetically enjoys chick flicks! However, I wouldn't be able to persuade him to do a Pilates workout with me... ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat is real love!
ReplyDeleteGotta praise your man cuz he at least tries. Most husbands don't even try.
ReplyDeleteHe's a good husband. My husband knows I love romantic comedies. And sometimes we see the blow 'em up movies he likes.
ReplyDeleteYour husband is so adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome!!
ReplyDeleteOh....my hubby would never do pilates with me!! He loves you for sure! <3
ReplyDeleteThat's sweet!

That is so sweet. I bet though that you watched the whole DVD even though you knew he was sleeping. Right now I am watching Downton Abby and and hubby has the football game on. We are both happy with this arrangement.
ReplyDeleteYou have won the cosmic lottery of good husbands. Well-done! And yes, I'm a little jealous.
ReplyDeleteSigned,

ReplyDeleteThat is some thing to be joyful for :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like love to me.
ReplyDeleteSee, like a blind squirrel finding an occassional nut, we guys can get it right when it comes to women!
ReplyDeleteHe's definitely a keeper! (Next time, you'll have to pick out a movie HE would like.)
ReplyDeleteHow sweet he is!!!! I really want to watch this show, but have missed all the episodes so far. By the time I found out how amazing it was, I had missed too many episodes.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetheart...but you already knew that! :)

what a perfect mix of give and take!
ReplyDeleteYes it all goes to show how thoughtful and sensitive we (men) are!
ReplyDeleteGive and take is a great recipe for a happy marriage.
ReplyDeleteFor years I've religiously watched all the period dramas as they came out. Upstairs and Downstairs, Poldark, The Onedin Line, Pride and Prejudice and The Forsyte Saga to name a few.
I've made a new years resolution not to even watch serials on the T.V and instead do something else. The problem is that when I go out with friends or the walking group all they talk about is what's happening on which particular drama. Can I win ?
You are blessed, Annmarie, but I think you already know that =)
ReplyDeleteWhat a guy! Sounds like a nice night together.
ReplyDeleteLiz
My husband does this often as well. Although the other day I mentioned that I'd really "like to see Les Miserables.... with my mother" to which he replied "That may be the nicest thing you've ever said to me."
ReplyDeleteawww i love it---i gotta get the first two seasons of this!!
ReplyDeleteHi! Following you now :)
ReplyDeleteAnnmarie, You'd better hold tight to your husband! Maybe it's because I'm retired and time on earth is somewhat limited but I don't do too many things that I don't like doing...life is too short! Pilates...not happening. Once in awhile I will watch a non-action or comedy movie against my better judgement and I am ocassionally surprised that I actually like it. Downton Abby...no way! You definitely have yourself a great husband! My hat's off to him... Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
ReplyDeleteAwww! How sweet!
ReplyDeleteActions speak louder than words! ;-) I would love it if my husband would do yoga with me! I always tell him how hard it is and he agrees that "it looks hard" yet he still hasn't done a class because "it's not HIS kind of workout!" If only he knew...;-)
ReplyDeleteLooking back (after 28 years of marriage) I can definitely say that a great deal of what a good relationship comes down to is compromise. I think he's a keeper :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful man.
ReplyDeleteLove from Mum
xx
That is so sweet! Your husband should teach a good husband course ;)
ReplyDeleteSweet husband! My husband watches Downton Abbey with me. Although he watches it through his eyelids, too. :)
ReplyDeleteThe world is a better place because of lovers like you
ReplyDeleteWhat a guy!
ReplyDelete=)
I love that!!
ReplyDeleteThat was really sweet. I love it when you get a little surprise at the end of the day.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweety.
ReplyDeleteHa! Isn't marriage great? Although in our marriage it's usually me who's asleep in front of the tv.
ReplyDeleteAwwwwww♥
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!!!! So sweet!
ReplyDeleteAww. :)
ReplyDeleteYour husband is a hero! And I commend you for not giving him a difficult time for sleeping through the movie. :-) :-D
ReplyDeleteThat is a good husband. My husband started watching season 3 of Downton Abbey and loves it, total surprise! I think he likes that it has some meaning to it and he can also work while it's on and we can still be together:)
ReplyDeletesweet!
